Not all fat is bad! There are other types of fat but you probably don’t care about them because you can’t see them and they don’t affect how you look! You simply need to know that there are other types of fat, and that not all fat is bad for you. In fact your body requires fat – you would die without it! (I know you may be thinking that you’re dying to get rid of it!)

The Magic Foods
What are the magic foods to help you lose stubborn belly fat? In the simplest terms, foods that do not cause your blood sugar levels to spike are best for you. Also foods that are high in fiber tend to be better for you. Your mother was right when she told you to eat your fruits and vegetables – these are high in fiber and usually do not cause a blood sugar spike. Whole grain breads are the only types of breads you should eat; all other breads just don’t cut it. Bottom line: the more processed the food, the worse it is for you. In other words, the less processed a food is, usually the better it is for you.
The Magic Pills
What are the magic pills you can take? First, you should know that I am not a fan of diet pills. Most of them can cause a lot of trouble for your body. Are there certain pills that are better than others? Yes. I will review the effective pills in another article. For now, just know that there are only a few diet pills that are worth taking (Alli diet pill is one of those – but it does have some side effects for some people).
Diet pills are usually considered nutritional supplements. But there are other pills which are very helpful to people on a diet, such as multi-vitamins and some herbal supplements such as Acai berry, fish oils, mineral supplements, etc.
Not all pills are created equal! Some companies manufacture their products to a higher standard – and you usually have to pay for the better quality. Some manufactures produce a very high quality product at a very low price, while others sell high-priced pills designed for “snob appeal.” Some pills are mass produced, cheap garbage. Buyer beware!
Bottom line: don’t get caught up in the hype of “take this pill and instantly lose fat!” There are only a few pills worth taking, and for the most part you can do very well without taking any pills at all.
The Magic Exercises
Is there one magic exercise that dramatically melts away belly fat? Yes, its called the push-away. Its similar to a push-up, but instead of laying on the floor and pushing on the ground, you sit in your dining chair and push against the table!
All joking aside, any exercise that moderately elevates your heart rate for a total of 60 minutes per day will make a difference. This means you can break it up into smaller chunks, such as doing 6 ten-minute workouts, or going on a brisk walk after each meal. You should include both aerobic exercises as well as strength training. Doing just sit-ups or crunches will not magically melt tummy fat. It will elevate your heart rate, which does burn calories, which helps to lose fat. But the secret is not the sit-ups – its the elevated heart rate.
Building muscle is actually more important than aerobic exercise! Believe it or not muscle on your body burns calories even when you’re sleeping! Fat on your body doesn’t do that. If you build bigger, stronger muscles, then when you are doing exercises (whether aerobic or not) you will actually burn more calories! What a great incentive for building muscle!
If you are going to pick just one magic exercise, then make it a muscle-building exercise instead of cardiovascular. In other words, do some weight training instead of going jogging or doing aerobics.
Summary
If you want to get rid of that spare tire – don’t give up! Focus on doing muscle-building exercises before you do aerobics. Strengthen your muscles a few days per week. Go for walks daily! Change your diet to reduce processed grains such as white bread (and other processed foods) and increase your daily fruits and vegetables.
