Things You Should NOT Be Doing!

Do not risk your health!

Do not attempt to lose weight by “purging” or vomiting!
Never do this!  You will deprive your body of essential vitamins and minerals as well as the macronutrients protein, carbs and fat that are necessary for daily activity.

Do not attempt to drop the pounds through starvation! Never do this!  You end up doing more damage than good by starving yourself.  You actually make your body more fat when you do this, because the homeostasis mechanism in your brain is triggered to conserve every gram of calories that it can – by storing it as fat!  This is not what you want – its the opposite of your goal!

Do not follow an extreme crash diet
like the Cabbage Soup diet, or the Hollywood liquid diet, or the Only-Eat-Apples diet (I made that one up myself).  Each of these crash diets will work to help you drop pounds, but you will quickly gain that weight right back because its “water” weight that you lose, not fat.  Plus, since these diets are very restricted you will not get the balance of micronutrients that you need (vitamins and minerals).

Do not attempt a dramatic change to your exercise and activity levels. Of course you need to increase your activity level every day, but if you make a very sudden increase you could seriously hurt yourself and possibly do permanent damage.  Don’t do it!
